About

Good day my friend! Thank you for visiting TheBigDreamer.com! My name is Mark Foo.

Since you’ve come to the ‘About’ page of my blog, I assume you want to find out a little more about me and what my blog has to offer. Well, allow me to begin with a little introduction of myself.

About Mark Foo

I am a staunch believer in personal development to the extent that I’m almost a fanatic! I believe everyone should relentlessly pursue his/her personal growth because “You are the foundation of your very own success.”

Just as how you would start building a house. You’d need to lay the foundation before you can start building the structure. Without a solid foundation, it will not stand, for long anyway.

Likewise, you need to lay a strong foundation for your own success. And that begins with yourself because, ultimately, you are the creator, the architect, the sculptor and the engineer of your own success, and you are 100 per cent responsible for it! Nobody owes you a living. Not even your parents.

I am also an anti – 9 to 5 guy. I do not believe in slavery (that’s what I think a job is). I believe I need to take my destiny ENTIRELY in my own hands, and not leaving half of it to a boss.

The only serious job that I ever had was a stint as a Marketing & Communications Executive while I worked in my family business. I worked there for 2 years before I moved on to becoming self-employed as a Real Estate Agent.

Currently, I have a new found passion in Internet Marketing, which is the reason why I started TheBigDreamer.com to share my thoughts and insights in business and personal development with like-minded individuals like you. These are lessons which I’d learnt and observed in life and in my career as a real estate agent.

I believe one of the best ways to learn anything is to share what I know selflessly and generously because when I share, I’m constantly inquiring, analysing and realising.

And hopefully in the process, I’d be able to turn it into a full time income source as I’m truly enjoying this experience.

Currently, I live in sunny Singapore, a beautiful tropical Island-City-State-Country in South East Asia.

Topics

Personal development is a massive subject and this blog aims to cover the field of ‘Success’, ‘Personal Finance’, ‘Wealth Creation’, and ‘Entrepreneurship’. These are the topics closest to my heart.

Who Should Read This Blog?

This blog is for people who need a few tips, a little motivation and a dose of inspiration to help and guide them to live their passion and fulfil their big dreams.

To know more, read about the kind of community I’m trying to build with this blog.

Why Should You Read This Blog?

Quite simply because you might just come across a lesson that could change your life!

I don’t claim to know everything and I’m definitely still far from being an expert or guru. I am just a fervent student in personal development who loves sharing what I’ve learnt in the hope that I could maybe one day help someone change his/her life for the better.

I do pour my heart into writing all the articles here and I hope they will turn out to be of value to you.

And this blog is not just a one-way information street. It is also my wish that this blog will develop into an interactive platform where my readers, which is you, will get involved in exchanging ideas and pointers in the comments sections so that we can all learn from one another.

Interests

My interests include:

• Reading (books, magazines, newspapers, blogs)

• Listening to audio programmes

• Attending seminars/workshops

• Watching tv and movies

• Travelling

• Fine dining (or any kind of good food)

• Fashion

• Soccer (Favourite team: Arsenal. Favourite player: Thierry Henry)

• Golf (Favourite player: Tiger Woods)

• Snooker (Favourite player: Stephen Hendry)

• Investing

• Building a multi-million dollar business

Commitment

I am committed to continually learn and grow, which means I am constantly seeking to become a better, wiser and richer person.

Most importantly, I am committed to bring to you, my readers, the best that I have to offer in personal development in order to provide maximum and genuine value to your life.

Future Plans

Having started my entrepreneurial journey as a real estate agent more than 2 years ago, Internet Marketing (Blogging) is now my next step in becoming an entrepreneur.

I will seek to bring this online business to a six figure a year business before I embark on my ultimate entrepreneurial journey in setting up a food retail business i.e. restaurant, café, and/or food stalls.

It has long been my dream to own a multi-million dollar food retail empire. And I will do whatever it takes (legally, morally and ethically) to realise these two dreams of mine.

Interesting posts u have here. I really enjoyed reading them and have also picked up a few pointers along the way. I am a typical 9-5 person as mentioned in some of your posts and after reading them, I do agree that you must love your job, else you will be enslaving yourself to whatever you are doing now and feeling miserable. However, passion may die off overtime so I believe you need to constantly seek challenges in your job so that it does not become mundane.
    Just sharing my thoughts. :)

    Hi Gina,

Thank you for dropping by my blog. I’m glad you enjoyed reading the posts here and that you’ve picked up a few pointers along the way. It is my wish that you’d apply what you’ve learnt because knowledge is not the real power; applied knowledge is.

    Cheers~

    Hi Albert,

Thank you for dropping by. Yeah, I’m also glad to have found some really good personal development bloggers from Singapore. PD is still not a widely adopted subject of study here so I hope we can help to raise people’s awareness of PD and get them interested.

    Cheers~

    Dear Mark,

Reading through your comments, I would like to commend you for your sincerity and enthusiasm. It is always very uplifting to read things like this when all around you seem indifferent.

My journey in internet marketing started four months ago and our group is coming up with a new ebook on acne. I was in the process of reading through websites, joining forums in the hope of getting to know people generally when I chanced upon your website. I personally can identify with your notions of personal development and for me writing this, I feel that I have open up new challenges for myself to do new things, to stretch my paradigm, to treasure what life has to offer and impart this enthusiam to my family, to my friends as well as to my area of expertise which is my work with young children.

But glad to see that this is another website I can keep up with for motivational inspiration. My group has also learnt new things in internet marketing but i think they are much more savvy than me as they are no newbies to internet marketing. They have set up a twitter website which you can follow for updates. You can see us at: acnenator@twitter.com

    Keep up the good work.

Real Estate is a lucrative industry, what makes you venture into “TheBigDreamer.com”?

    Hi Louis,

It’s true that you can make a lot of money as a real estate agent. But I don’t pursue a career simply for the sake of money. Money alone doesn’t motivate me to take enough actions. Besides good money potential, it’s gotta be something I absolutely enjoy doing.

I can’t say that I enjoy being a real estate agent that much, although there’re certain aspects I do enjoy and I did learn quite a number of things which I believe will be very helpful in life and whatever I pursue in future.

As for why I started TheBigDreamer.com, I believe I’ve said it under About Mark Foo.

    Cheers~

    Mark
