Ready-Fire-Aim!

Alrighty! This post shall be the start of my journey to making a MILLION DOLLARS on the Internet!

“Yeah right Mark… Dream on!”

You may think I’m dreaming but I couldn’t care less. It doesn’t cost a damn thing to dream! If you don’t even dare to dream, what do you dare to do? :P

Carry on being a slave to your boss is perhaps what you enjoy then… But I’d rather be the boss and have other people be my slaves… Ha ha…

Ok joke aside. I’ve procrastinated long enough to embark on this journey – the Internet Marketing journey (Yes, I want to make money from this blog).

I suffered from a common syndrome called Analysis Paralysis (sounds familiar?). In other words, it means forever getting ready to be ready.

I’d been too engrossed in getting to know everything before I even kick-start. The worst thing is, I still don’t know everything!

I finally figured that I should just get going and to hell with the unknowns! I’ll work things out somehow, somewhat, somewhere along the way.

What really kicked my ass and get me on the move were 2 great quotes I learnt from 2 great people.

“You don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it going!” – Mike Litman

“You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great.” – Les Brown

What a gem! They have become my favourite quotes ever since. Check these 2 guys out. They’re AWESOME!

Ok, coming back to making that million dollars on the Internet. I’m not saying that I’m aiming to achieve the goal by this time next year. I know it takes time, a lot of time. And I’m prepared for that.

Currently, I don’t have my own products yet so I’m going to start with making money from affiliate marketing and Google Adsense.

If you don’t know what they are, just click on the links to find out.

By the way, my blog is not about Internet Marketing, making money online or my personal soap stories, though Internet Marketing will be part of it. Read the blog’s tagline and you’ll know.

I already have a plan on how I’m going to reach the million-dollar target. It may not be the best of plan, but hey… at least I have a plan!

It’s always important to set a target and plan how to get there. While it’s good to just get going you still need to have a target and a plan. As the saying goes, “Failing to plan is planning to fail.”

I have also set milestones so that I can keep track of whether I’m on course toward my target.

My first milestone is to make my first dollar online within the first month that this blog is launched!

Yeah I know… One dollar is miserable. But hey, any result is a good result for a start! Besides, I’m just firing first before I take a sharper aim. Once I perfect my skills, you bet I’m gonna make the million dollars!

So before I draw the curtains down on my first blog post, let me just summarise what I’ve said. Whatever journey you’re going to embark on:

Get Ready by setting a target and a plan so that you know where you want to go and how you’re going to get there. Henry Ford said it best: “Before anything else, getting ready is the secret of success.”

Just Fire so that you get things going. Stop worrying about what you don’t know. Focus instead on what you already know even if they don’t add up to much because you never know what you can achieve with what you already know until you take actions. I can’t emphasise enough how important it is to simply get things started.

Take sharper Aim along the way by honing your skills and tweaking your strategies to enhance your chance of hitting the bull’s eye.

I hope my little story kicks your ass and gets you to start firing. If it did, I’m glad I’ve helped someone and I can sleep well at night. :)

That’s all for now!

Cheers~

I agree with you Mark, waiting to be fully ready on something is sick. Having a plan and good understanding on what you are going to do is enough to start.
