What’s Your Success Idea?

First and foremost, I have to state what I mean by success idea lest you may think I’m referring to the best moneymaking idea you can ever find.

I’m certainly not talking about moneymaking idea or wealth creation idea although your idea may eventually lead you to accumulate an abundance of wealth.

What I’m talking about is the idea that allows you to follow your passion and live your dreams. If you’re able to make a living following your passion and excel in it, money is all but a by-product. It’ll just come naturally.

It’s a sad truth that when it comes to choosing the career choice, a lot of people would pursue a career that promises good money. It’s not a bad thing that your career promises good money, but it’s bad if that’s your only consideration.

But I understand it’s not your fault because since you were a kid, your parents, teachers and peers have conditioned you to accept this as the way to go in life. However, the truth is nothing further away from that.

Money being the sole motivation is not going to last you long. You’ll soon find yourself running out of steam before you even make your first pot of gold.

If you want to even have the slightest chance of becoming successful, one of the most important criteria is to be motivated. But the fact is motivation doesn’t come without passion.

Being a very lazy person myself, I know that to be true without a hint of doubt. In the past, my mum often said to me, “You’re so lazy that I can see your lazy juice oozing out from your ears!”

When I was in school, I was too lazy to study hard even though I wanted to get good grades because studying was just not my interest and I never thought doing well in school would guarantee a promising future.

I picked up golf a year ago but I’m still pretty much a below average player because although I like the game, I’m just not passionate enough to be motivated to practise hard enough to improve my swing.

My whole life, I’ve never had the motivation to work hard to accomplish anything in a big way because I never found my passion in anything worth my effort.

But right now, as an Internet entrepreneur working from home, I didn’t feel the need for anyone to kick my butt to get me to do my research and pen my thoughts on my blog.

I could work into the wee hours of the night and still wake up early to carry on my work. Of course I don’t start writing the first thing in the morning. I start my day reading a chapter of a book. And sometimes I listen to self-help audios as well.

But that’s part of my work too because I need to keep learning and constantly improve myself in order to produce good content to share with you!

I’m self-motivated to do all this because I enjoy doing it. I wake up early not because I have to but because I want to. I immerse myself in work not because I need to but because I choose to.

This is what most rich and successful people have in common. They love what they do. Steve Jobs loves what he does. Warren Buffett loves what he does. And that is the reason why they are still doing what they are doing even after accumulating wealth that’s enough to last them a hundred lifetimes!

Doing what I love doing is how I overcome my laziness to work hard. When you are absolutely passionate about what you do, you’ll automatically be motivated to do it. And you won’t find that it’s hard work because when you’re doing something you love, you’ll find there’s more pleasure than work in it.

So start to think what’s your success idea today. Nobody will be able to give you an answer to that question because only you know what’s your true passion.

I understand you may not be able to answer that question right now. In fact, most people can’t answer that question right away. I used to be in the same position.

That’s because most people never seriously think about what they want in their lives.

Now is the time you start asking yourself some serious questions:

• What is it that never fails to capture your attention?

• What is it that gets you to talk enthusiastically?

• What is it that gets you all fire up?

• What do you value the most?

• How do you want your life story to be told?

• Who are your role models in life?

• What are your hobbies?

• What’s your expertise?

• What are you naturally good at?

I sincerely hope that you’re able to find your true passion, turn it into your success idea and live the dreams of your life.

All the best my friend.

Cheers~
